Your data stays yours

What the Little Red Box website and game do with information. The short version: nothing comes to us. On iPhone and iPad, your progress can sync through your own iCloud account.

Last updated 14 October 2026

Little Red Box has no ads, no game accounts, no analytics and no tracking. The game does not collect, share or sell any personal data. From version 1.1 on iPhone and iPad, your progress is kept in your own iCloud account so it can sync between your devices; we cannot see or access it.

Who we are

Little Red Box is made by Andrew Tech, who is responsible for this notice. You can reach us at hello@andrewtech.co.uk.

The game

Little Red Box plays offline and never asks you to sign in to a game account. It does not include advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software, and it does not send anything about you or how you play to us or anyone else.

The game keeps two small files on your device: your progress (sparks, visited wanders and Box’s wardrobe) and your settings (volumes, graphics, comfort options and language). Photos you take in photo mode are saved on your device too. Deleting the game deletes them.

iCloud sync (iPhone and iPad)

From version 1.1, if you are signed in to iCloud, the game keeps a copy of your progress in your iCloud account using Apple’s iCloud key-value storage, so your iPhone and iPad can share it. This copy contains your progress (visited wanders, book discoveries, sparks earned and spent, wardrobe items and outfit, and where to carry on) and a random code the game creates to tell your devices apart. It does not include your settings, photos or anything that identifies you. It is stored by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy and your iCloud settings; we cannot see or access it. If you are not signed in to iCloud, nothing is synced and the game keeps saving on your device as before.

Purchase check (iPhone and iPad)

From version 1.1, the game asks Apple’s App Store, on your device, to confirm that this copy was obtained from the App Store. Apple’s signed record of the download stays on your device and is not sent to us. If the App Store can’t be reached, for example when you are offline, the game still plays.

Backups

Your device may include the game’s files in its own backups: iCloud Backup on iPhone and iPad, and Android’s automatic backup to your Google account. That lets your progress come back when you restore or set up a new device. These backups are run by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies and your device settings; we cannot see or access them. You can turn them off in your device’s settings.

Links

Settings > About can open this page and our help page in your web browser. Apart from these links, iCloud sync and the App Store purchase check described above, the game does not connect to the internet.

App stores

When you download the game, Apple’s App Store or Google Play handles the purchase and may share anonymous, aggregated statistics with us, such as the number of downloads or crashes. This is covered by their privacy policies and does not identify you to us.

This website

The site has no accounts, contact forms, advertising, analytics or tracking cookies. Like most websites, its hosting service may process technical connection data, such as your IP address, to deliver and protect the site. The website never receives your game saves.

Email

If you email us, we use your email address and anything you choose to include only to reply and help you, and we delete it when it is no longer needed.

Children

Little Red Box is suitable for all ages. Because the game collects no personal data, it collects none from children.

Your rights

The game gives us no personal data about you. If you have emailed us, you can ask to see, correct or delete that correspondence. If you are in the UK or EU you can also complain to your data protection authority; in the UK that is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).

Changes

If the game’s data practices ever change, we will update this notice before releasing that version and change the date at the top.
